Boosters FAQ
The Westminster Instrumental Music Boosters (WIMB) are the families of students who participate in any of the Instrumental Music Program ensembles. Boosters plan, organize and raise money. The Boosters are volunteers who rely on all parents to contribute a helping hand.
Is WIMB only for Marching Band?
No! WIMB supports all ensembles. Fundraising provides for professional clinicians, lessons, music, copyrights, instruments and other costs associated with all aspects of the Instrumental Music Program. The boosters need participation from parents of ALL ensembles.
How do I join WIMB?
If you are the parent or guardian of a student in the Instrumental Music Program, congratulations! You are a member of WIMB. Now, please become an ACTIVE member!!
How can I get involved?
Participate in something! There are many opportunities to volunteer and the boosters can almost always use help with something.
Introduce yourself to other parents and instructors. We don’t always recognize each other, especially in a crowd.
Learn the names of students in your student’s section, especially the name of section leader(s).
Ask, email, and attend a Booster Meeting!
For concert ensembles...please don't miss the performances themselves!
When are the meetings?
Booster meetings are held regularly throughout the year in the WHS Chorus Room. Attend all year! This is the best way to keep up with what is going on and to learn about Instrumental Music program activities. The minutes from the meetings will be posted on the website.
How can I keep up with information?
Weekly schedules, calendars, the list of expenses and their due dates are available on the website. Other important items will be posted on the bulletin board outside of the Instrumental Music Room, and will be listed (from time to time) in the announcements on the school wide messages.
Occasionally, dates and times will change. The changes will be announced at practices and in Instrumental Music classes. They are often emailed home and posted on our Facebook page as well.
Please regularly check the website https://owlband.org
What activities are available to students who are not in Marching Band?
Concerts, All-County Band/Orchestra, All-State Band/Orchestra, Pit Orchestra for the Musicals, Performing Arts Ensembles, Tri-M, Indoor Percussion, Indoor Color Guard and many other opportunities are available throughout the year.
Are boosters really needed for these activities?
Absolutely! Parents interested in helping with any aspect of the Instrumental Music Program should contact the booster president, or Mr. Frazier:
