Owlband.org understands that you are concerned about maintaining
your privacy. This notice describes how we handle information about you and
steps you should take while visiting this site and associated links.
Information gathered about you even if you do not log in:
Like most sites, we record information about visits to this site from your
computer. The IP address, type of browser, and other non-personal information
from your computer is recorded, in addition to the date/time and pages visited.
We use this information to determine user satisfaction (e.g. no one
visited the Colorguard page until we moved it among the other music
groups) and page popularity for sponsors (e.g. the photo gallery was
viewed 541 times in the past 30 days).
Information gathered about you if you do log in:
When you register and log in to this site, we use information
that you provide to deliver content specifically for you. The registration
process requires your email address, but this is not sold or provided to any
outside organization except law enforcement authorities, if requested. The site
management company also does not use this information except for
Owlband-related activities.
Links:
The privacy policy of sites accessed via links that open in a
pop-up window or those that are obviously an affiliate (e.g. Amazon.com) are
not necessarily similar to those found on this site. In particular, Amazon.com
may receive information from or about visitors that access the site. Be sure to
read their privacy notice.
Do your part to protect your privacy!
"Moment of Fame" contestants have the ability to change text
on their page. We strongly advise that you do NOT post any personal contact
information (address, email, telephone number, etc.) in these forums where it
is visible to the public. You may post an email address or link to your
act. The webmaster or "Moment of Fame" volunteer agents may contact you
to reconsider posted private information or may just alter it as required
to protect you.
Email addresses are generally not posted anywhere on the site
except for the band directors. Any address that does appear should be an
owlband.org alias of the actual email address. In most cases, a contact
page is used to access an individual. This is to conceal the actual
address from email harvesting robots that roam the web looking for junk mail
targets and bogus 'from' addresses.
If you are an organization volunteer and have something for the
web site, please be sure that personal information is not included unless you
are willing to accept the risks of public disclosure. This includes PDF
files.
